Q: When I was fifteen years old, I went with my family to
Makkah
to perform the obligatory duty of Hajj. After performing Tawaf (circumambulation around
the Ka‘bah),
we went to
Mina
and then to
‘Arafat.
After supplicating to Allah,
i got a stick
and hit the branch of a tree. One of the brothers that were with me told me that this was Haram (prohibited). My question is: What should I do if that was Haram? Please advise me and may Allah reward you with the best!
A:
‘Arafat is part of Al-Hil (all areas outside the Sacred Sanctuary of Makkah). Accordingly, there is no sin on you for what you did nor are you required to offer a Fidyah (ransom). May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!
