Q: What is
the ruling on organizing Qur’an recitation competitions for women attended by a male audience?
A:
Women are not allowed to recite Qur’an in the presence of (non-Mahram) men for fear of them becoming attracted to them. In essence, Shari‘ah dictates blocking all means leading to things forbidden.
